About Me

IMG_8723

Hello there!

My name is Linda Bùi, my pronouns are she/her pronouns and this is a space about things happening in my life or reflections I have on life, hence the blog name.

While my work and residence takes place in many spaces across Turtle Island, I acknowledge that I am a second-generation Vietnamese-Canadian settler on the traditional territories of the Anishinaabe, Huron-Wendat and the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation covered by Treaties 13, 14, and 19.

I am a community organizer, co-founder of the Girls Empowerment Movement (GEM), co-project coordinator of the Empowered Phụ Nữ Collective and currently with the Council of Ontario Universities. Outside of work and volunteering, I love binge-listening to podcasts, knitting and hiking.

I initially began this blog during my university years as a space for me to document personal reflections and to explore my storytelling voice. It also provided a much needed break from my typical student life routine of writing academic and research essays. After some time away from it, i.e. forgetting to attend to this page, I tried to revive it during my co-op placement abroad living in Sri Lanka and again during my experience with the Ontario Legislature Internship Programme

Now, I’m using this space to document random reflections, when I do remember to tend to it. This includes my my annual year-end/new year reflections, which I’ve been able to do now for several years 🙂

All of photos on this blog are taken by yours truly unless otherwise stated. All opinions expressed are my own and do not necessarily represent the viewpoints of my work or other affiliations.

Feel free to send me a message or comment on a post! I’d love to hear your thoughts and life lessons.

Thanks for reading,

LB
